So that's what you've been doing...
I've decided relearn how to do 'Master's style' oil painting.
The best way to relearn how to do something like a painting technique is to copy a master. Even Lucien Freud still copies the masters... and no I don't want to get into a discussion on the validity of portraiture art versus a post-modernist perspective to the substance aesthetic over concept, LOL... Despite all the art history and modern criticism I've taken I still like pretty pictures :D
Anyway, these are only about 3/4 way done I hope to have them finished in a couple of weeks and yes I know there are plenty of errors etc but I thought I would share what the heck I'm up to and why I haven't posted art for a while. I've been doing this as well as my regular art practise...
But before I bore you all who have entered the first is after a Holbein the Younger painting and the second is after a Velázquez painting :)
